July in Review!

My poor neglected blog! I haven't even had time to keep up with this, but I am staying up a little late to update!!!!

So, here goes!

July was full of Chelsey's softball tournaments. Almost every single weekend she played in a tourney. So this meant that every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, she was playing between 3 to 6 games a day. Although it has been a lot of fun, it was also a lot of stress. Every time she comes up to bat, I hold my breath and hope for the best! She is a great player and has learned and grown a lot this year!

Chelsey catching against their nemesis, the Hot Shots . . man oh man!

This is the Oquirrh Mountain tourney where they took 2nd place, but with much controversy attached to it!

Chelsey is awesome, she has been a trooper through all of this! I kind of thought she might get burned out and be done with softball, but she wants to keep playing and play fall ball with the team and then they are considering going to Mesquite in October, but as a 10 and Under team, we will see how that goes! You can see how fantastic the team is at this site

Along with tournaments, there was vacationing! We went to Bear Lake for Riley's Grandpa Mitchell's 80th birthday! It was a lot of fun, they rented a cabin that all 40 something family members stayed in. We slept in our tent, that was an adventure!
The boys playing in the "sand" at Bear Lake!

Kaylix and Grandma Bev, he kept taking her to the water so he could get buckets of water and dump it in the sand!Isn't Keegan cute!

They also rented a boat while we were there, Riley was the driver of the boat, we were suppose to leave so that Chelsey could make it to her softball practice, but I couldn't get Riley off the dang boat, she was late!

Chelsey tried the tubes with Britany and KenyonCorbin is such a good lookin kid!!!

Keegan was tired, but was hangin in there to be on the boat!Kaylix is a free spirit, he thought the boat was fantastic!

Chelsey wanted me to take her picture in this "outfit" (her jammies) when we got home, because she was at a lake(her pants have fish) and she plays Taylorsville Softball (her shirt)!

Then of course I had to take everyone elses pictures too!

And Keegan wanted to take my picture, so I let him!I know, I'm cute, he was taking sooo long to take the picture!

Keegan passed a major milestone this month,

Yep, we got rid of the Binky, one down, one to go ;) (Kaylix still has one!)

And we headed to our annual Newport Beach, California trip on the 24th of July! This year there was a lot of chaos just to get us there. Our van was having problems, Riley tore it all apart, told me it was fixed, so I could drive it, I drove it, it wasn't fixed. We were now down to 2 days before we were leaving and no running car, because of the 24th holiday, there was not even anyone who could get it fixed for us before we were leaving. Chelsey and Riley and Kaylix were coming home early so that Chelsey could play in a tourney, so I bought a plane ticket for me, Keegan and Kaylix to fly there, Riley, Chelsey, and Corbin drove down in my moms car and then me, Corbin and Keegan drove the car home. It was all very frustrating! But once we got there, we had a lot of fun!

We didn't go to Disneyland this year, but we had to visit Downtown Disney!

Riley and the kids did a lot of fishing off the pier, that was something new for us this year!
Corbin caught this sand sharkand wanted nothing to do with it!
But he was happy to hold the little guy that he caught!

Corbin also had a birthday while we were there, he turned 7 this year. I can't believe it!

My cousin Chris, wishing him a happy birthday!

These are the only pictures that I got of the beach! Between Keegan and Kaylix napping, Corbin going to the beach, going in, showering, then going back out, and Chelsey not really feeling well, I really did not spend that much time at the beach and did not take very many pictures, which makes me sad!

The sand monsters, they kept just laying down in the sand, it was funny!

And last but not least, my baby girl had her tonsils out on Tuesday. She has been such a sport about it. She was so scared to do it, but it had to be done, hopefully no more strep throat, no more sleep apnea and snoring. She should be like a brand new girl! She was so mad, she had them out at Primary Children's, they gave her some medicine to "calm her fears" and then gave her a wagon to sit in because the medicine would make her sleepy. She HATED the wagon. She was to big for it and she felt silly! They were unsure if they were going to do the surgery because she had a cold with a nasty cough. But they decided that it would help her get over it if they took those stupid tonsils out! So, out they came!

She is doing great! It was a little scary when she was coming out of "the deep sleep!" Her oxygen levels kept dropping and they kept us there for quite a while monitoring her. Then when they finally let us go, the nurse scared me a little, she told me to make sure that I really listened to her breathing and to make sure that it didn't change, if it did take a turn for the worse, get her back to the ER and if necessary call 911. Also, make sure that on the ride home, she doesn't fall asleep because then she will kink her neck and she will stop breathing and then I will have to bring her right back. I admit that I broke the law and I let her ride in the front seat with it reclined so she could sleep and I didn't have to worry about her not breathing. She and I slept on the couches that night so I could listen to her breathing while she was sleeping and to make sure that she got her pain meds every 4 hours, it was a rough night for both of us! But, like I said she is doing great! She also missed her last all star tournament this weekend since she got them out, she was not very happy about that, but we had to have it done before school starts!

So, that is July and a little bit of August so far! Just can't believe that school is almost back in, or that I let my sister talk me into being PTA co-pres with her this year, man what was I thinking!
