Truth be told

I haven't felt much like blogging. I have thought about it often, but there has been so little time in my days lately! ;) We had to squeeze in all the summer fun that we had been putting off because it was to hot into just 2 weeks, man was that a lot of work!

First of all can I say that who ever thought of 2 dollar Tuesdays at Thanksgiving point was a GENIUS
everyone under the sun came out to participate. We wanted to go to the Dinosaur museum there, we went and it was like a line at Disneyland. We figured by the time we got in there, there would be no room to even enjoy it. So we opted to visit the animals instead!

These goats were the biggest hit with the kids, I think we spent 90 % of our time with the goats!

Keegan couldn't be in this picture because . . .

he wanted his picture with this sheep instead!

This is also the last picture that I took of Keegan right before I lost him. We had all gone back inside the barn to wash our hands and call it a day. We were in there, Keegan, Kaylix and I went to see the baby chicks, I was holding Kaylix up to see them and Brenda comes over and asks "Where is Keegan" I look around me, I can't see him anywhere, we go into panic mode and we are looking all over the barn. Can't find him, so I head out the front door and Brenda heads out the back. Still can't find him, by this time we are walking through there just screaming "Keegan" everyone is looking at us, but no one offers to help us. Then all of a sudden I see this lady coming in with him holding is hand and he is just sobbing. Brenda was closer so I yelled "there he is" she grabs him to hug him and he cried harder then I went and grabbed him and thanked the lady who brought him in. He had gone all the way back down to the end of the zoo to see the horses that were pulling the wagon we had gone on. Man, I was scared when he was lost, but so grateful that someone nice noticed him crying and brought him in. And a big thanks to everyone else there who helped us out, including the employees who were just staring at us as we were frantically yelling for my 2 year old, I'll make sure I come back often and lose a child again, such big helpers out there, NOT.

And just because we didn't get enough of these animals, we headed up to the Hogle Zoo! It was a hot day, but we had a lot of fun! While we were eating our lunch, I got stung on my knuckle by a bee, that was my highlight of the visit!!! It swelled up and made it hard to bend my finger, so it was a little painful to push the stroller, but, still fun!

Kaylix loves to push my dad around in his wheelchair. Just a little side note, I have so much love and respect for my dad, he is a great man and has accomplished so much in his life thus far! My dad also suffers from Parkinson's disease and I say suffers because it is a very hard and draining disease. There are days that my dad cannot leave his bedroom because he is in a lot of pain and he is unable to walk. My dad has had this disease for over 10 years now and has had trials because of it. My dad used to be able to do anything and everything, this horrible disease has definitely slowed him down. To me, the saddest thing, is that my kids do not remember grandpa when he didn't shake. When Chelsey and Corbin were little, he was still in the early stages and he was able to play with them and spend a lot of time with them. Corbin and Grandpa were best buddies. Now, he is unable to do many things, but, he has gone through 2 steps of a surgery called Deep Brain Stimulation. They put shunts in his brain and then hook it up to a monitor in his chest and this should return him to 80 - 90 % back to "normal" No matter how excited the rest of my family is for my dad to have control back over his life, it will never compare to how he feels about it! My dad deserves to be happy and to live his life, it has been hard to watch my dad through the years just get worse and worse, but now, there is hope, and we are all hoping and praying for the best!

Love ya Dad!!!!

Kaylix also celebrated his 2nd birthday on Saturday.

I call Kaylix my little monkey, so had to make him this cute cake!

These were the events that I got pictures of, there have also been 2 fishing trips, Corbin went to Lagoon and Chelsey was able to have lots of time to play with her friends. We had much fun, fighting, cleaning and more around our house the last few days. There suddenly comes a time when my children become bored of being home all the time and that is when we are grateful for

The first day of school. Corbin is in 2nd grade and has Chelsey's teacher from last year, Mrs. Carter, and we are so excited about that! Chelsey is in 3rd grade and has Mrs. Dean, she is also super nice and we are looking forward to another great year for Chels.
