Yesterday I was talking to my friend Jenna and telling her that I think that everyone in the family is finally starting to get better. She told me to knock on wood, I should have knocked a little harder I guess!
This morning when Keegan woke up, he yawned really big in my face, I just happened to look in his mouth and I noticed all these white spots right inside his lips. I looked a little harder and they are on his tongue and a little on his checks. Great!
Then it was time for our weekly visit to see the Dr. for Kaylix's burn, we decided that Kaylix needs to take a trip to the burn unit tomorrow so they can look at his hand. The burn has healed nicely, but there is "pulling" in between his pointer finger and his thumb and all the way down the center of his hand. Because when I would wrap his hand, he would cup it, it has healed wrong as far as scaring goes because it was not flat. If that makes any sense! So, they will give him a splint tomorrow and my Dr said not to be surprised if they talk about surgery, believe me, at this point, very little can surprise me any more!
Since I was there, I asked him about Keegans mouth, we are still doing 2 breathing treatments a day and using 2 different inhalers and tonight he took his last dose of prednisone, a steroid. The Dr said that he has a yeast infection in his mouth from the inhalers. So, he gave him yet another prescription to help with that. It is sad, when I go to the Pharmacy and I feel like they are all my friends. They just say another for Keegan and get to work on it. He also told me to start giving him allergy medicine every day. Keegan, Corbin, and Riley all had really bad allergies last week, and because Keegan was having bad allergies, he was also having a really hard time breathing, he was breathing like he had been running a race all day long. It was a little un-nerving. So, we will start with that too and see what happens. What's next for the poor little guy?!? I think that I will just open up my medicine cabinet and give him one of everything that is in there, because to date, he is on 7 different medicines. I am thinking that soon I will have to have a serious conversation with my Dr and see what the next step is to getting him off of everything and back to normal. I have wondered if getting him surgery for his Reflux, would solve some of the other problems that seem to arise as a result of reflux, like asthma.
Stay tuned for updates on both of them!!!

Oh Man! You have been through a lot it seems!
ReplyDeletePoor little guy. I hope he gets feeling better and off the meds soon:)
Let me know if I can do something, okay?
Seriously. ? I missed a day. I can't even remember when to give the kids their meds when they have a fever. I would freak if I had to keep track of 7! Keep up the good work. Tricia is awesome.
