I have said it before, this kid thinks his place is on the table, and he poses too!
I told Keegan to smile big, so he did!
This was a gum drop day!
We had a great time decorating our house for Halloween, and everyone was so helpful!
I bought the older kids their Halloween costumes last year the day after Halloween when Target clearances them for 75% off, so they had to try them on!
Chelsey loves to play dress up with her little brother! He wanted to wear her costume, so she let him!
Aren't these silly!
This was also a sweet day!
Keegan got this chair from my aunt and uncle for his birthday, he loves it, and so does Kaylix, there is much fighting and crying over this chair!
But it is still gum drops!
Well, now that brings us up to this week. On Wednesday I took my kids to get their flu shots. Corbin had staid home from school on Tuesday and Wednesday with a really bad cold and an eye infection. I used my eye drops that I had when I had pink eye and it cleared his eye up nicely. It was not a nice few days with him sick, but I sent him to school on Thursday and Friday, but looking back, I probably should have kept him home one more day! Then we were all looking forward to Grandma Bev and Grandpa Gary coming to visit. They were coming in late Friday night, and Friday is when my not so candy cane and gum drop days started. Not because of them coming, but because when Keegan woke up from his nap, he was coughing really hard and having a hard time breathing. So, I put him in a hot bath to steam him and try to help him, but it made him worse. So, Riley and I decided that he needed to go to the Dr. I took him to insta care and he had a really bad case of Croup. He also had an eye infection. They gave him some steroids to open up his breathing and sent me home with another dose for the next day. The Dr said that cold air was actually good for him because it helps to open the airways, so let him be outside when his breathing got bad. We got home and he threw up. I was worried that he had thrown up all the medicine and he was not going to get better. But, he did start to get better.
Saturday morning we got up and went out to IHOP for breakfast. It was yummy! Then we came home for the babies and Riley and Gary to rest! They also watched a LOT of football. That night we decided to head to Gardner Village and see the witches and ride with a witch. It was really fun! When we first got there, the weather was pretty nice, by the time we got done with our ride, it felt like the temp had dropped about 20 degrees, so we left and went to Chick-Fil-A, our favorite!
There was this lady in line behind us dressed up as a witch, with her face painted green and everything, Keegan couldn't stop staring at her, Riley told him to smile, but it was like, "I just can't look away!" Even Kaylix was staring at her and wouldn't stop!
This brings me to the next not so gum drops thing. 1:00 in the morning, Kaylix starts crying and coughing and also having a hard time breathing, he was up every 2 hours crying and coughing. Riley did not feel so hot that night either, so he took NyQuil and slept nicely through all of this. So, I got up Sunday morning and took Kaylix to insta care. He also had Croup and his was worse than Keegan. The Dr couldn't believe how tight he was. So, he was also given 2 doses of steroids. Needless to say, none of us made it to church.
Monday, the older kids go to school and Bev and Gary went to Cokeville WY for a funeral. When Keegan wakes up from his afternoon nap, he is burning up. His temp was 101.6 he was whining and then started throwing up. I was trying to decide whether to take him back to the Dr or not. Aunt/Nurse Shauna said to give him a cool bath, lots of liquids and Motrin/Tylenol. So I did, his fever broke about 9:00 and he was in bed, nice and cool and drugged!Today, Tuesday, Chelsey and Corbin played Hookie from school to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa before they headed back home tonight! Chelsey and Bev went to lunch and shopping and Corbin and Grandpa went to lunch and Golfing. This is Corbins favorite thing to do with Grandpa! Bev and Gary left for the airport about 4:00 and Corbin cried when they left. That kid has the biggest heart!
Then, the tears really started, so, I told him we were going to see them again soon. Grandma will be back in a few weeks and then we are spending Thanksgiving with them. That seemed to help! He loves people so much and misses them so much!
Keegan has been throwing up a few times today and still just not feeling really good. Then he once again woke up from his nap, on fire. His temp was 101.8 and he wanted a bath! So, I stuck him in the bath and gave him lots to drink. As soon as he got out of the bath, he laid down on his bed and went to sleep. So, I called the Dr. asking what I should do. It seems weird to me that the fever comes in the afternoon and he is throwing up and all the other stuff, so I wanted more opinions! They said that he must also have another virus and that I should watch him for another day to see what happens, but if his fever gets worse, or he becomes dehydrated, to call back sooner. I asked why she thought the fever was coming on after his nap, she said probably because he is still being a crazy 2 year old through out the day, and when he winds down, it catches up to him and his body is worn out from playing and stuff. Makes sense, but still un-nerving.
Kaylix is still croup-ey! He still rattles when he breathes and has a really bad cough. He just wants me to hold him, which has been a little hard with both of them only wanting me, but I secretly love it! And, I have been keeping both of them drugged and sleeping lots to get over the crazy bugs.
So, there it is, my sweet and not so sweet week! Tonight, I have a little sore throat, mine is from lack of sleep, they are both waking up in the middle of the night because they are coughing and just not feeling good. So, I will fight mine off by going to bed right now, and hoping for some sleep!
That does not sound fun with so much sickness! I am so not ready for winter and sickness!
ReplyDeleteI hope they are better really soon!
I like gum drops!
