Sick Kiddo's

I really wish that I could explain just how sick my poor little Keegan is. Here is my best attempt! Thursday, he was not acting like himself. We went to reading time at the Library and he just sat on my lap the whole time, he didn't want to move or smile. Then we went to lunch, he didn't eat anything. Then we went to my moms house, (she was watching them so I could get my hair cut) and when he was sitting on my lap, I noticed that his neck was swollen up below his ears on both sides. So, I called the Dr. and I made an apt with him first thing Friday morning. Keegan has infection in his glands, I'm not really sure how that came about, but it is there and it is bad enough that his glands are swollen up. So, he was placed on Antibiotics and then we were given another medicine for his reflux. By Friday night, he also had diarrhea, I assumed it was because of the antibiotics, and just went on. Saturday and Sunday, same thing.
Yesterday morning, he work up at 6:00 and came in my room, mom I pooped my pants. Fine, he was such a mess, I had to change his sheets and clean the floor everywhere that he had walked. Poor Kid!
Then came the vomiting. I had an apt to take Kaylix to the Dr for his 18 month check up. I loaded all the kids in the car and took Chelsey and Corbin to school at 9:00, as we pull into the parking lot, Corbin says mom, Keegan just threw up. I was a little stressed at this point because I now had to go home and get him all cleaned up and get to the Dr by 9:20, it wasn't going to happen! Then Brenda came walking over to the car and I just looked at her with almost panic in my eyes, she was so nice, we stripped Keegan of his clothes, wrapped him in a blanket and she took him home, put him in the bath and cleaned him all up!
I was gone for an hour and she said he had thrown up 3 times while I was gone. I took him to the store to buy him some pro-biotics to help the diarrhea, and he threw up all over the store. I cleaned it all up and loaded back into the car to go home and he again threw up in the car. We were not doing well!
This continued all day long. He was throwing up everything and anything. I gave him a Popsicle, back up, Gatorade, back up, Sprite, back up.
I called Shauna, "What do I do?" She said to give him small 2 sip drinks every 10 minutes, tried it, everything just came back up.
We were up every 45 minutes last night throwing up. This morning, my mom came and sat with him and Kaylix while I took the other 2 to school because I don't have anymore clean car seats for him!
Today, he is till throwing up and cannot move off the couch, except to run to the bathroom.
I again called Shauna, "when do you know dehydration has set in?" I think he is there. He has dark circles under his eyes, his eyes are bloodshot from all the vomiting, and he is just pasty white.
Right now, he is sleeping and I am venting! I am trying to follow "Nurse Shauna's" orders for 10cc of liquid every 10 minutes, but he keeps asking for more, he is so thirsty. I am going to keep trying, but if he doesn't get better, we might be off to the hospital begging for help to get him healthy again.
Before . . .

After.

He is not the only one who is sick. Kaylix has a little bit of a croupy cough and has been sick. When we went to the Dr yesterday, he told me to watch him to make sure it didn't turn into croup and if it does to give him a call. I feel like we might be calling him! Today he is a little worse than yesterday.

Chelsey was up Sunday night crying because she didn't feel good. Her and Corbin have been going out to recess without coats on, so they both have a little sore throat and runny noses. I wish I could go over at recess time and tell them to get their coats on or go inside!!!! I need everyone to be healthy!

Riley has a sore back, and Saturday, was unable to stand up straight, he needs to go to a Dr. But he refuses. I am working on him!

I have dry hands because I have washed my hands so many time trying not to get all the many sicknesses that are running through my home. It kind of feels like things are just crumbling around me. I really wish summer would get here sooner than later, bring on the sunshine and a little less sickness.

  1. Oh no - that sounds horrible! I am so sorry! Maybe you need to jump in the car and come to sunny AZ where it is 85 degrees... although no one wants to drive in the car with throw up and diarrhea!!! Hope you are all better soon!
