Update on "Frow up"

Keegan, Riley and I had a fun time at Primary Children's on Wednesday! Keegan was great and I was grateful that Riley was able to go with us, it is always wonderful to have a little extra support!
Well, here is what we found out about the "frow up"! Keegan was tested for Reflux, he had to drink a barium drink, as he was doing it, I watched the screen and he had instant Reflux. The Dr. looked at me and said "wow, look at that" it was pretty instant and pretty bad.

Then we took him and had his blood drawn, he did not like that very much, but he was very brave! After each Dr and each registrar er that we saw, they gave him a prize for being so good, he made out like a bandit there!

His Dr. called me tonight and told me that on the GI test, he has 'really' bad reflux, in fact more than what is normally seen in a child his age. (great)
And on the blood tests, he was tested for Celiac Reflux, that came back negative, he was tested just for food allergies in his system, that came back as he has an increased amount of cells in his blood showing that there is an allergy there, but then the foods that he was tested for, all came back negative. Our Dr. said that there is not a test for Red Dye, so if that seems to be the cause, we just need to be aware of that and keep it under control.

So, Keegan has been placed on Prevacid, and we are watching him for another week with that to see if it helps. If the "frow up" continues to occur then we are going to place him on something that starts with an "R" that helps move food more quickly through the intestines so that the acid does not have time to build up. If that does not help, then we will be referred to a GI Dr.
Here's to hoping that the Prevacid is enough to keep his tummy calm and we will not have to go to the next, bigger, steps!

I love this little kid, he is such a trooper! Thanks to all for the prayer and the thoughts, we appreciate it tons!
